Largest free upper memory block 44K (45,248 bytes) Largest executable program size 605K (619,952 bytes) My guess would be that there is some type of conflict with the driver the overlay program uses.Īutoexec.bat and Config.sys files optimized for light memory footprint The overlay worked just fine in MSDOS however Windows 3.11 seemed to hang indefinitely at the splash screen. I revisited this and used the Ontrack Dynamic Disk Overlay program posted by PhilsComputerLab ( mirrored here) with mixed results. If you need additional space I suggest creating an HDD image on the unused ide channel or emulating a zip disk. This is because of a bios limitation on early motherboards and the fact that I did not use a disk overlay program. The primary boot drive is only ~500mb despite being a 2gb image. (It is my understanding that the PCem team is still working on the accuracy of sb16 emulation, so hopefully that will improve with future releases.) Occasionally some titles have a sound glitch. This VM is great for playing most abandonware titles.
